Hi there! I’m a food historian and food writer from Amsterdam.
I studied History and French in Amsterdam and Paris, and completed a master’s degree in Food history in Tours (France) and Brussels. From 2020 to 2024 I worked as the curator of the Food History Collections at Allard Pierson (University of Amsterdam).
Since 2017, I write on food for the Amsterdam newspaper Het Parool. I have weekly recipe column in Trouw, and write about food history for Geschiedenis Magazine. I have published several books, including works on the history of Dutch cookbooks, the history of eating on the go, and the history of Amsterdam restaurants.
I regularly do research for television and radio productions, give lectures on a wide range of topics, and teach about Dutch food culture at CIEE. I’m always interested in new projects.
